This girl was not on my list of dolls for 2008, but when the lottery was announced I got too tempted and put my name up for it. I started regretting my decision as soon as I found my name on the winners list and did not stop until yesterday. That was when I started taking photos of her.
Now on to the details. The first shot is a full length view of the lady. She wears a gold bubble dress made of a material that is a mix of silk and some synthetic fabric that is stiff, yet shiny. Underneath she wears a pair of black leggings. She also comes with gold studded boots and an elaborate necklace-earring set.
A closer look at the bodice of the dress (below left); I loved the intricate beadwork in gold and bronze. She wears a nice black “leather” belt with gold buckle around her waist.
The back of her dress (below right) is neat and well-stitched. The traditional hook on top of the zipper is also present.
Her jewelry is very intricate and quite impressive, but I found the combination of long earrings, a sprawling necklace and the beading on the top of her bodice a little too busy. Later, I pulled her necklace up a bit into something like a choker -- I liked it better. Some shots of her jewelry...
Gorgeous boots, the studs look very nice and it was breeze slipping these on her.
Now a look at her face. Her tanned skin is very beautiful and exotic. Couple that with her vibrant blue eyes and she is almost too exotic to be true. Her hair is a blend of brown, red and black and it tied up in a updo that is very severe. A look at the hair from the back.
As I said, I have had a tough time warming up to this doll. I did not even debox her till two days later -- and by my standards, that is quite something. But ever since I started taking photos of her, I have bonded very strongly. Somehow, I cannot think of her as Agnes Von Weiss -- it is not just the skin tone but the dress and the aura of this one that make me think of her as a whole different character.
What I love most about this doll is how different she is from everything else I have. She has this wild intensity that you just can't ignore.
Overall, I give her a “Thumbs up.”
