Barbie DOTW Spain                            byRupak

Spain is part of the DotW collection; her package lists wonderful details on her country. She comes dressed in a Flamenca costume. How close it is to authenticity I do not know, but it is beautiful.  The underlying gown is red (dark red/tan) overlaid with four tiered black lace.  The lace is quite intricate and to scale considering this is a $20 doll.  Interestingly, her legs came wrapped in white tissue - implying that the gown may stain.  It is nice to see that Mattel is being more careful.

She wears a vail and carries a nice looking lace fan in her hand.

Her hair is nicely styled in the front a bit matted in the back from storage. On the top of her head there is actually a tiara/headress hidden beneath her vail.

Her ornaments are gold colored and inlaid with red that matches her gown.  The post of her earrings are very thick and stout.  Her shoes are simple plastic ones, but the heel looks solid and good for Flamenca.  Coming to her face now -- just look at it.  I am no fan of the Lara sculpt, but this one is fantastic.  She has brown eyes, beautiful face paint complete with an alluring beauty mark.  Her hair is dark brown/red and swept on her forehead so charmingly.  Overall, I give this doll a big thumbs up.  My only issue being with her packaging -- I still do not understand why Mattel has to put in a zillion pieces of plastic to hold a doll in place.  So many that taking her out of the box almost spoiled her hairstyle.

BTW, this doll is sold out at BC.com, so seems like she will be as popular as Diwali.
