Barbie DOTW Sumatra                        byRupak

Another beautiful girl from Mattel's Dolls of the World collection.  No matter how I try to discontinue this line the beauty of the girls in this collection keeps pulling me back.  And, Sumatra is no exception.

She is a DotW, and her box is printed with information on the country of Sumatra/Indonesia -- it is an interesting read.

Sumatra wears a blue/aqua outfit that is very similar to Indian salwar.  The outfit is not bad, I absolutely love the rich color.  There is a gold printed motif at the lower part of the outfit.  She wears a sheer golden pants/leggings, and the arms of her dress is also the same gold sheer material.

She wears a gold headdress; it is kinda flaky looking but I did not expect too much.  I am satisfied with her jewelry as well...nothing outstanding but good for overall effect.  The girl has gorgeous grey/blue/green eyes.  Face paint is beautiful, her hair is dark and long.  The back of her hair was made into a loop sort of thing -- thanks to Mattel's packaging skills and my unpacking skills, it has been destroyed.

This doll is a job close to 'well done'.  She is lovely, and I do not know why she is not as popular as Diwali -- because she deserves to be.  Here is a comparison shot with her cousin; you can see how the underrated Sumatra shines.
